Christmas Haul

It has been a long while since I sat down and committed myself to a real BLOG.
I blame my unreasonable idea to blog once a day for an entire month for my newfound incapability to write another one.

So, I have spent the last few minutes dedicating myself to taking photos of my new toys!

First off, I took all of the pics with the best present of all! CANON REBEL #2!

(This photo was obviously NOT taken with the new camera.....it IS the photo!)

Now, onto the rest of the coolness!

At the very top of my list is this amazing day planner! It's so classy and just the right size. I cannot wait to go back to work and show it off! Big important meetings- HERE I COME- in style!!!!!

Another neat gift along the same lines is this small journal. This was actually a white elephant gift I got from work. One can never have enough paper sources- especially paper sources with such cute covers! ;)

As for some new additions to my health and beauty section, these awesome items have found a new home:

My jewelry now has a permanent home! I cannot express to you the relief I felt to get this jewelry organizer for Christmas! Not only does it prevent tangles- jewelry's worst nightmare- but it keeps everything in one spot and so completely organized. EVERYTHING HAS IT'S PLACE---what a beautiful thing!

If you look closely, you will notice that my watches tell different times. hmmm...is that why I have been running late lately?!?!?!?!? ;)

This year's special special surprise gift! The month of December consisted of friends, co-workers, and family asking me what special gift I would be receiving from Jared this year. My answer was always: "MACE". TRUTH- I did receive MACE, however, completely to my surprise, I also got this adorable necklace. I love it so much and it's the perfect sized little key. For the past four years, there have been little to no surprises in our relationship- he would kill me for telling you this- but this year, he kept TWO surprises from me! This is an additional surprise within itself.

1. My necklace- I knew about the MACE even before it was purchased. And we had discussed that that would be all that he would need to get me. I was completely content, but am very thankful for the thoughtful addition to the plan!
2. My camera- apparently Jared and my mother had had some discussion about this infamous camera that I had ZERO knowledge of. I pride myself on being able to figure surprises out, especially when Jared is behind him, but I must give him PROPS for this one, because I will say that he pulled these two off very well!

On top of all of it all, I seriously considered purchasing the new camera on my own RIGHT before Christmas for a special project I am working on for my grandma's birthday.....I did think it was strange the way Jared was acting when I asked his opinion on my potential purchase.....but, he NEVER told!

THIS IS AMAZING STUFF! I have not gone a minute without wearing it since Christmas Eve. I love being a girl at Christmas- well, every other day, too but especially at Christmas. ;)

I wish I would add a scratch and sniff to this photo- it's bliss! I always have concerns that I am never smelt. I love when someone walks by me and I can smell what they are wearing- that is a very beneficial investment, but throughout my day, I am never sure that anyone can smell the abundance of perfume that I have on- so what do I do? ADD MORE! I literally drown myself in yumminess every morning so that I can be sure that people will notice my fragrance. I hope that I can make someone feel good when I stroll by them and they can smell Enchanted Orchid. I know, I'm weird.....Who thinks about this crap?!?!?!?! WOW!

Next time I see you, ask me to close my eyes. I will most likely be sporting these new looks! I have enough eyeshadow and lipgloss for endless possibilities! I hope to venture away from my current strict neutrals only policy. Now that I have so many options, I foresee new variations and change in the air!

Hot Hot Hot! Literally, this is my new straightener bag! I will be traveling in style from here on out. One amazing feature about this bag- the inside has a heat protected fabric that can withstand extreme heat for my impatient lifestyle (how much of that is a ruse, I am not yet sure, but as soon as I place my straightener in the bag before it is completely cooled down, I will let you know if it burns the bag to ashes). ;) ;) ;)

My misc. Christmas gift pile consists of many little gadgets here and there, but one that sticks out to me is this little gal:

Put this little doo-dad on any cup and you're ready to go!

Lastly, here is my new iPad case.

That's all for now. Whew! It feels good to have COMPLETED a decent blog for the first time in awhile.

Share with me- What did you get for Christmas this year?

SNAP SNAP!

Winter Schminter

So far, it's not lookin' like there will be much need for this, but it was a blast to make!

I've been watching a gal's blog-Amanda. I don't know her, but I came across her blog and she sucked me in! She is so dang crafty- a trait I have never been blessed with. Here is what I attempted:

Amanda's t-shirt scarf:

Now, no judging! This was my very first one- I have a lotta guts putting this little guy up!

Here's my t-shirt scarf:

I had a blast creating it, but my colors aren't as neat as hers. It's hard to coordinate from a closet with way too many DIFFERENT colors. I was surprised to find four that looked ok together. One thing I realized during this process, I have an abundance of t-shirts...and NONE of them are at all similar to the others!!! Good and bad, I guess. Variety is a good sign, but is there such thing as TOO much variety?!? There are little options when trying to layer or put multiple things together- how have I not noticed this before!?!

I will definitely try this again! Stylish and warm! Amanda brought up a good point; if you go to a lot of sporting events, use the team colors and wear your scarf as a spirit piece!!!!!

Hello God!

I left work yesterday -same time, same routine-and when I got to my car, there was a message:

I have no idea how this happened, but as soon as I saw it I knew it was special! I had been inside at a desk all day -and what a beautiful day it was! God just wanted to remind me to take in the beauty of his creation!

I couldn't avoid it! It made me so warm inside and as the soft wind blew on my face I looked around at all of the wonderful orange glowing leaves! Blessings!!!!!

Hello God.

I was pleasantly surprised with this yumminess on Friday....

And today....Kuzco tried on his first pair of winter pajamas....he loves them!!! ;)

They have little places for his back legs. Too funny!

Inturrupting my tidying time. He was exhausted after a long day of nothingness.....what a life.

Day 22-30: I've Lost It!

My challenge has resulted in FAILURE! I have not posted a blog for every day of the month of November.....YET! I know that it doesn't count anymore, but i still want to provide you with SOME entertainment.....i was a religious photo taker and had every good intention of posting a different one of them for the rest of the month of November, butttttt.....when it came down to actually writing the posts out.....I fell asleep.....

I cannot count the number of times that i fell asleep in my bed every night with my phone on my chest and safari open to blogger.com.....I was so close!

So, to make up for all of the lost blogs of November, here it goes:

After the traumatizing starburts incident, I was a bit frazzled. I spent the next week (and still every now and then) lying in bed at night thinking of the traumatic incident. LOL. I am so strange- admitting you have a problem is the first step.

Since then, I turned 23 (on the 23rd- that will only happen once!). It was a fun, relaxing birthday. Ate lunch with all my co-workers- we ordered chinese to be delivered- gotta love an effortless meal!

After my birthday, I prepared to Thanksgiving, which was amazing! I loved Thanksgiving this year- I am very thankful!

As usual, the family came over and we celebrated like we ususally do- most of you are aware of my household rituals...it was just some more of that.

The weekend after Thanksgiving I was able to do the neatest thing! I took photos of our newest addition to the family (my dad's side). His name is Carter and he is adorable! He was the first baby I have taken photos of and they turned out so beautiful- I surprised even myself. He was a breeze of a subject and all he had to do was lay there and be adorable! Mommy and Daddy were also so wonderful- then again- they are family....it's always easier when you know them!

If you have no yet figured it out, I will be posting all of the photos at the end of the post as to end on a good note!

The next week was full of lots of pictures! I had two clients that needed their photos! What pressure! When there is money involved, things get a little more hectic.....and stressful. What if they don't like them? What if they don't feel like they have gotten their money's worth? What if they don't pay me because they aren't satisfied.....well, as it turns out, they both loved them so much, they gave me extra money! That was too neat and a really great confidence booster! LOL. I felt so relieved when they told me that they loved them. It tough to tell, though. Some people have the gift of being able to fool you into thinking that they are very satisfied when they are actually horrified!

The extra bonus was very reassuring! I am saving up some money (from my photo shoots) to buy a new camera and take on some more clients hopefully soon! I love taking photos and though i always considered it to be only a hobby, this pics for money thing has really paid off!

I can say, proudly, that the photos have been placed into the hands of their owners and all is well! I even made them each a very special DVD to go along with their pictures.

Here is the rest of the month in pictures:

Day 21: Cough It Up.

I have done it...I have managed to be an entire week behind on my blog... Never expected it to get this bad.

I have found myself to be progressively boring, as well...this could end badly!

6 days ago, on November 21st, I helped my mom clean her bathroom... How glamorous!

It was a nice Sunday indoors. Working and cleaning. We ended the night watching movies. Watched Valentine's Day starring Ashton Kutcher, who although has been accused of cheating, is still a hunk! Hunk number two behind Ryan Reynolds- dreamy dude! ;)

One crazy thing that occurred on this particular Sunday involved a terrifying encounter with a Starburst.

While catching up on a couple of shows I had saved on my DVR, I popped a red starburst in my mouth. Almost immediately... The edges of the candy were still rough- the ends hadn't melted and formed a mold of the roof of my mouth- I took in air and the starburst went with it! CHOKING, I gasped for air to get my mothers attention on the other side of the room (completely involved in the television). I never thought about what I would do in a situation like the one I found myself in unexpectedly...

Heimlich? Regurgitation? Choke to death? I had nothing but disturbing options.

The heimlich- that's practically impossible.

Regurgitation- Ew! I've NEVER been forced to gag myself to the point of barfing (and never want to)

And choke- no thank you...

I kept swallowing- trying...and it would slide down...then right back up.

Damn those red starburst candies...

Luckily, the warmth of my esophagus applying pressure to the moldable red mush caused the edges to soften and the candy to mold itself to slide down...slowly an painfully, but surely.

My throat hurt for about an hour but hey, now I know how to handle myself the next time a starburst gets stuck where it shouldn't.....

Oh, the remaining starburst took a quick trip to the trash can...

Lovely.
